In this final workshop we were told to bring three images in and trace them, I chose a brain as i felt like it would have a good effect when layered, I changed the patterns inside the brain a little more than I should have however the outcome was still good.

I tried out different background layers, this was my favourite by far but the tan colour made no sense so I edited the hue of the background to create this grey version below.
We were introduced to masks and different sketch up effects in this workshop too.

This is the final outcome from the workshop, I used a sketch up effect using the mask where we zigzagged across and used a hue key frame to change the colour of the brain. I wanted to keep mine fairly simple as I felt like the simpler ones worked the best.

Rotoscoping

We were introduced to rotoscoping in this workshop, I used a video of Stefan holding a camera up and then placing it down, this was the part I wanted to rotoscope as it was one second exactly which is what was required to create a 10 second loop.

This is the original video rotoscoped onto a white background, it worked quite well for a first attempt.

I then placed my rotoscoped footage onto a red solid background and used the blending effect multiply to create this simple red version of the original. I also duplicated the footage, lowered the opacity and skewed it over the original to create the shadow looking effect.

In this workshop we were given our picture on our badges and told to create a new portrait using the image, I used the whole image including the areas around to create a border, my idea was to have two portraits that could be seen upside down and the right way up.

I feel as though the bottom image has achieved what I set out to do more than the image of the top.
The next task was to create the same poster by drawing the portrait, my image looks much more cartoony when drawn.
The final idea was using the scanner to create two different stretched out faces and smudged faces and to create another face using it. My original idea was to have both my faces kissing however I chose to put the stretched out features next to the normal one.

Presentation Workshop

In this workshop Jay showed us how to clean up scans using Photoshop and it's auto tone functions, he also showed us levels and cropping and how to make images more presentable. These images show the original image and then its cleaned up version straight after.

We were also taught about presentation ideas, how to add images and make them as low size as possible we were also taught about links to videos incase things don't work in the actual PDF.

In Nick's workshop we were tasked with choosing an object personal to us and to create a zine out of the object. I chose my inhaler that i had with me at the time. The first page was a simple title page I used the word Qvar 100 which was what was written on the box of the inhaler.

This page was what we thought the object would say to us, I thought of multiple phrases such as 'you take my breath away' 'shut up and kiss me'. However I went with the more caring "I'm here for you"
This was a page of patterns using an element of the object I used the top part of the inhaler and put it on its head to create the shape and decided to put the randomly around the page.
The final page is what we would say to this object, I heavily exaggerated these for comedic purposes as to say the object is alive and is something I'm in love with, however there is still an element of truth to these.

These next three images are the full zine opened up and compositions of the Inhaler taken apart, I really like the way the image turned out and decided to keep a non cut up one for my self.
