Cinema 4D

In Jay's workshop we explored Cinema4D again and some of its other uses. We used an emitter to create an effect that a ball was being shot down a tunnel. We used the extrude tool and materials to create the tunnel and balls, to create the effect of it bouncing we used some of the gravity tools and different speed settings to get the desired effect.

These are some of the patterns I came up with, the star is my favourite personally. We used the checkerboard material to create the black and white lines.

These images show some of the more random effects and what sorts of things you can make. In mine I used keyframes and animation to create a Tron style effect, however it used complete random settings but I am pleased with the outcome.

Nick 1

In Nick's workshop we were tasked with creating three posters using three different typefaces, Baskerville, Cooper STD and Futura. We used a quote from that weeks horoscope. I chose to do three different quotes rather than using the same three.

The "It will become clear" was inspired by an eye test and gradually decreases in size and as it becomes smaller it becomes clearer by removing the amount of shading to make the letters a clear bubble. The "Sending mixed signals" poster used the idea of mixing in signs at the bottom of the typeface sheets to create letter for example a £ instead of an E. Finally the third poster "Tune into your instincts" was done by complete freehand literally trusting my own instincts to create the poster as neat as possible.

AfterEffects

Geometry AfterEffects from Yousuf Mohammed on Vimeo.

In this workshop we created a series of different style animations all one second each using simple shapes and lines. We explored different effects such as rotate, scale and hue changes. It was more of a refresh session as to learning something new, we were reminded of keyframes and other AfterEffect functions.

Cinema 4D

In Jay's workshop we created a logo using vectors from Illustrator, we used different materials and colour settings on the logo and light settings. We also played around with camera and animation as shown in the video below. We were introduced to different effects such as extrude to create 'pipe' like objects to make the logo 3D.
